Hapo Projects (Pty) Ltd – Dreams Engineered for Sustainability

CH 0+000 — CIVIL & STRUCTURAL ENGINEERS, SOUTH AFRICA

Dreams
engineered for sustainability.

We turn municipal, mining and private development visions into infrastructure that works on the ground it is built on: water, sanitation, roads, structures and the management to deliver them.

KHOI · NOUN · A DREAM; A LONG-TERM VISION

Our name is a promise to carry a client’s vision all the way to a working asset. Our mark is fundamentally South African: the flowing curves of Sesotho Litema for the water we move, and the bold stepped lines of isiNdebele art for the precision of every road, platform and foundation.

CH 0+100 — SERVICES

What we engineer

Every civil service a site needs to function and last, designed and delivered by one accountable team.

  1. 0+110

    Water and sanitation

Bulk water supply, reticulation, pump stations, treatment works and stormwater master planning, with sustainable drainage and rainwater harvesting built in.

  2. 0+120

    Roads and transport

Access roads and intersections, geometric design, pavements, heavy-vehicle haul roads and pedestrian mobility.

  3. 0+130

    Structures

Foundations, rafts and ground beams, plant platforms, liquid-retaining structures, buildings and heavy equipment bases.

  4. 0+140

    Dolomite and difficult ground

Design to SANS 1936 on dolomitic land: hermetic wet services, foundations that bridge a loss of support, and coordination with the competent person and the Council for Geoscience.

  5. 0+150

    EPCM and project management

Engineering, procurement and construction management: tender documents, contractor procurement, NEC3 contract administration, site supervision and close-out.

  6. 0+160

    Development services and approvals

Engineering services reports for municipal services agreements, rezoning and development approvals, with earthworks balanced to minimise cut and fill.

CH 0+200 — SECTORS

Three sectors. One standard.

Municipal

Infrastructure that supports reliable public service delivery.

— Bulk water and reticulation
— Wastewater works, pump stations
— Urban roads and stormwater

Mining

Heavy civils that keep operations safe and productive.

— Process water and dewatering
— Haul roads and pit ramps
— Crusher, mill and conveyor bases

Private and industrial

Turnkey civil services that get developments approved and built.

— Estates, retail and logistics parks
— Clean utility precincts
— Sustainable drainage

CH 0+300 — METHOD

Designed to the ground

Good infrastructure starts with knowing the ground and ends with an asset the client can afford to run. Each appointment steps down the same four terraces.

  1. 01

    Investigate first

Surveys, geotechnical and hydrological studies scoped up front, so no layout or foundation rests on assumptions.

  2. 02

    Value-engineer

Precautions applied where the ground and the standards require them, avoided where they do not, with the options and costs set out plainly.

  3. 03

    Price in the open

Fees in line with the ECSA guideline, with every sub-consultant cost and handling fee disclosed.

  4. 04

    Deliver and close out

Procurement, contract administration and resident supervision through to as-built records and the final account.

CH 0+400 — ABOUT

From vision to working asset

We bridge the gap between engineering design and delivery on site. As engineering lead on multidisciplinary projects, we coordinate specialists, suppliers and contractors, so clients deal with one accountable partner.

Every asset we deliver is designed to meet strict safety standards, to perform for decades, and to strengthen our clients’ standing in the communities that host them.
